On Tuesday, January 23, Bishop Ruth Woodliff-Stanley underwent back surgery to repair a herniated disk she suffered earlier in the month. The surgery went well. Following her doctor's guidance, she will be on a reduced work schedule for the next six weeks. She remains in regular contact with members of diocesan staff, and adjustments are being made to her schedule over the coming weeks to support a full recovery. Bishop Ruth gives thanks for the excellent medical care she has received over the past few weeks, as well as for the support provided by family, friends, and colleagues during this challenging time. Your prayers for her full and complete recovery are greatly appreciated. If anyone has any questions, particularly in terms of scheduling issues or concerns, please contact Betsy Pritchard, the bishop’s executive assistant, at 843.259.2016 or [email protected]. Thanksgiving for a Beginning of Recovery O Lord, your compassions never fail and your mercies are new every morning: We give you thanks for giving Bishop Ruth, both relief from pain and hope of health renewed. Continue in her, we pray, the good work you have begun; that she, daily increasing in bodily strength, and rejoicing in your goodness, may so order her life and conduct that she may always think and do those things that please you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer, p. 460) Comments are closed.
