Please keep Bishop Adams and our General Convention Deputies in your prayers this week as they are at Kanuga, the Episcopal Conference Center near Hendersonville, NC, for the 2017 Province IV Synod meeting, beginning this afternoon. This is one of two Synod gatherings held in preparation for the 79th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, which happens in July 2018. Bishop Adams arrived at Kanuga earlier this week for the Province IV House of Bishops meeting. Province IV is a regional group of 20 diocese, including ours, that cover nine southeastern states. At Synod meetings, deputies gather "to worship, learn, pray, network and celebrate the work that God has called us to do," according to the Province IV website. Discussions will take place on a variety of topics of interest to the whole Church, including issues that are likely to be addressed at General Convention in 2018. Find information about South Carolina's deputation at our General Convention Blog, episcopalsc.blogspot.com.
