![]() Grace Church Cathedral will offer a special screening and discussion of the 2016 documentary Liberty and Slavery: The Paradox of America’s Founding Fatherson Tuesday, January 31 at 5:30 p.m. George McDaniel, a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Summerville and Director Emeritus of Drayton Hall Plantation, is featured in the film, as is Catherine Braxton, a descendant of enslaved people from Drayton Hall. Both will be present, as will Rebecca Campbell, another Drayton Hall descendant. The one-hour film will be followed by an hour of discussion facilitated by book study member Margaret Seidler, who is leader of the Charleston Illumination Project, an initiative aimed at building relationships and strengthening trust between citizens and law enforcement. This evening will serve as part of the 2017 expanded Illumination Project Listening Sessions.
