Diocesan Convention
November 11-12 "Seek and Serve Christ" The Annual Convention of The Episcopal Church in South Carolina took place at Grace Church Cathedral in Charleston, South Carolina on November 11-12, 2016. Our theme was “Seek and Serve Christ.” The Reverend Winnie Varghese, Director of Justice and Reconciliation for Trinity Church Wall Street, NY, was our Convention Preacher and WORKshop keynote speaker. As usual, diocesan convention this year offered opportunities to accomplish two primary goals: to do the necessary work for our diocese at its annual convention and to participate in the annual reunion of the people of The Episcopal Church in South Carolina. Convention WORKshops: On the Friday of Convention this year we sought to live out our theme by spending a day at several sites in the community, giving back and serving others. We gathered at St. Thomas, North Charleston to hear from our keynote speaker, the Rev. Winnie Varghese, then went out to several outreach locations to "Seek and Serve Christ" in the community.
