​It's Day Three of the 80th General Convention and our deputation continues to represent our diocese in Baltimore. As Convention has been shortened this year, the days have been very full of business sessions, voting, and worshiping! Today, clergy deputies the Rev. Bill Coyne and the Rev. Bishops pass measure broadening definition of Book of Common Prayer
After hours of discussion, the bishops proposed the first-ever constitutional definition of the Book of Common Prayer — and it's not just a physical book anymore.

Deputies advance $100.5 million budget proposal for 2023-24 and process reforms
The House of Bishops and the House of Deputies gathered together July 10 for the first and likely only time this convention, to hear an afternoon presentation of the $100.5 million churchwide budget proposal in a joint session, as mandated by the Canons. Deputies later passed the budget. Bishops will consider it July 11. 

Maryland bishop challenges church to ‘tear down walls’ across the church, communities
Bishop Eugene Sutton challenged Episcopalians to “tear down walls” of division across both church and community, with love, truth-telling, reckoning and reconciliation, while preaching July 10 during the 81st General Convention in Baltimore.

General Convention takes steps toward adding Bishop Barbara Harris to calendar of church saints
General Convention voted to add Bishop Barbara Harris' historic consecration date to the calendar and requested further study for a potential future addition of a commemoration of her life to Lesser Feasts and Fasts.
